I’m a Professor of Philosophy at the University of California, Irvine. I have been named Inclusive Excellence Professor (2022–2023) and DECADE Mentor for the School of Humanities (2022–2024). I also serve as Director of the Graduate Emphasis in Medical Humanities and as Co-director of the Minor in Medical Humanities. Previously I was Chair of the Department of Philosophy (2017–2022) and a Chancellor Fellow (2019–2022).

My research focuses on epistemology, philosophy of mind, and the history of analytic philosophy. I’ve published widely on G. E. Moore and L. Wittgenstein, scepticism, relativism, and self-knowledge, as well as on perception, concepts, and the first person.
